Capturing accurate and consistent colors has always been a difficult task to achieve. But recent developments in software and hardware, such as X-Rite‘s ColorChecker Passport, provide simple and practical tools to gain control of your color workflow. Using any camera capable of shooting RAW files, students photograph under various lighting conditions and learn to create custom camera profiles following a step-by-step real-life scenario using Adobe Lightroom 3.

Students will understand how cameras actually perceive color, see the difference in camera sensors, learn when to use specific color spaces, and clarify the concept of the RAW workflow. Any camera capable of shooting RAW files will work for this class. new prerequisite: Adobe Lightroom for Beginners, Photo I: Digital, or portfolio review.

“Eduardo is a talented educator and professional who is always at the ready to share his knowledge and be of assistance to anyone who asks. He is a team player with a true collaborative spirit. He is a very good writer, an excellent speaker and communicator, and on top of that is very pleasant and fun to work with. He has produced some excellent work on the X-Rite Photo Blog including a video project last year called Color Shorts, a four-part video series on a color management instrument. He was able to expand on some general ideas, create the scripts, shoot and edit the video and deliver to us a very professionally produced finished product. We are very proud to feature his work. It is always my pleasure to collaborate with Eduardo Angel on any project.”
