Importing & Batch Renaming Photos & 4K Videos on the Road.

It’s been a while I don’t publish a new article here. The reasons are many but fairly simple; I was busier than ever packing my entire life in New York, and getting ready to travel around the world for a year. I doubt anyone who hasn’t done something similar can begin to imagine the vast amount of work it takes to “unroot” yourself.

We’ve been based in Portugal for a month and we couldn’t be happier with the decision we took.
So far we’ve driven over 2,500 miles (4,000 km) and I’ve been shooting pretty much every day.

Back in New York I spent a considerable amount of time planning my editing and backup workflow and it truly paid off. Since I don’t have access to speedy desktops and servers I must rely on my two year-old MacBook Pro and high-capacity yet super light portable hard drives.

Today I’d like to share my current “Batch Renaming & Importing Workflow.” I truly hope it benefits photographers, filmmakers and digital nomads spending several weeks or months on the road.

On upcoming tutorials I’ll be sharing my workflow to very easily create proxies and edit 4K footage on a laptop without any issues. I also plan to share my Adobe Lightroom workflow and how to easily upload images to social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram as well as backing up your photos to external hard drives AND cloud services like Photoshelter.

So, stay tuned. The silence is over!
